Biotium Launches Precast GelRed® Agarose Gels for More Convenient and Safer DNA Electrophoresis
Designed as a streamlined and safer alternative to traditional ethidium bromide stained gels, Precast GelRed® Agarose Gels are set to quicken laboratory workflows and enhance experimental outcomes with exceptional convenience, safety, and sensitivity.
The precast gels arrive precast and ready-to-use with proprietary GelRed®, eliminating time-consuming gel preparation. Simply fill the electrophoresis chamber with TAE buffer, then place the gel in the chamber, load your samples, and run your gel.

Biotium's Ready-to-Use 1 kb DNA Ladder (31022A) was separated on a Precast GelRed Agarose Gel (1% Agarose TAE) in 1X TAE buffer for 60 minutes at 100 V. Loading amounts are indicated above the lanes and ladder band sizes are shown to the left. The gel was imaged on the UVP GelDoc-It gel imaging system with a UV transilluminator and EtBr filter.
Biotium also offers user-friendly 1X TAE (1L) Buffer Powder Packets that may be used with the Precast GelRed® Agarose Gels, providing further streamlined and simplified solutions for DNA electrophoresis needs.
